The rest of my January "work"

I took a week or so off. I have to play some games too, you know :( else I will forget what a fun game is supposed to be like. Cicero is the coolest TES character ever, waaah... Not that I've played all the Elder Scrolls...

I wanted to make this screenshot earlier. There isn't much to post now (even when I'm working on the module), so I will probably not update weekly, at least for a while.

  1. "whats the matter Brash? cant keep it in your pants if you see me naked?"

  2. Does everyone in the game reacts to how PC is dressed? Or it's just a special event dialog?

    1. I try to make everyone react, but I make slips...

    2. I am making my first game right now (RAGS), I can't imagine the amount of work it will takes to add reactions to everyone about how the PC is dressed in a meaningful way. So it is perfectly understandable for slip-ups. =]

    3. How about only making important people react to how the pc is dressed?

    4. I sometimes really feel like making some unimportant NPCs react, like the decent innkeeper in chapter 3 (guess that will be finished much later). That kind of thing is fun to write, so it keeps me going. But it would be difficult to make a list of NPCs and check if everyone is reacting, and the warnings would get repetitive.

Sailors in chapter 2 also won't harass your character if she is decently dressed. Much to everyone's dismay, yes...

  3. Just call it research ;)

I do love Skyrim for the sheer scope of gameplay but my Dragonborn gets too easily sidetracked by the most random things (like learning how to cook...or falling down every mountain by accident). Then there was the fact that I assumed that if you can pick an object up it must be useful at some point in the game...so I escaped from Helgen with about 20 brooms and wooden bowls!

    1. I only hoard items which have a value of at least 10 coins per 1 weight :D which some still consider crazy.

My biggest complaint about Skyrim is that the Dragonborn becomes the leader of EVERY guild he/she joins. Everyone else is incapable, or what? Dark Brotherhood is nice on its own, but not when you're already the leader of Companions and Thieves Guild. Why am I the leader of the Thieves Guild anyway? I'm the newest member and I have no idea who their contacts are... It looks like they are setting me up to be killed if someone should want to kill the "leader".

Second complaint... no romances. Though Cicero comes close, because he worships the main character. :D

    2. Don't forget Thane of every Hold as well! Still it's not as though anything changes when you take over the Guild...Brynjolf goes back to ignoring you and you carry on doing the fetch and carry...I mean steal and carry quests ;)

Don't get me started on the whole Amulet of Mara/marriage thing! Where's the hot steamy dungeon crawling sex?! If you're going to make your game an 18 rating you might as well go all the way, right? I'd even settle for flirty banter. *sigh* maybe it's for the best, if they ever made a game that combines the scope of Skyrim with the character development of say, Dragon Age, I don't think I'd ever leave the computer again...On the plus side I'm sure your mod have more than enough flirty banter and steamy dungeon crawling sex for my PC!

And Cicero's voice actor deserves so much kudos for his work. Just the right level of psychotic fanboy :D

    3. Brynjolf left many players heartbroken. :D Having a marriage mod doesn't mean much to me. Don't know how it is with Brynjolf, but when I married the retard Companion, he walked out of the church before the priest was done with his sh**.

I guess the developers of Skyrim also had their limits. The world is huge. Writing proper romances would have taken away their lives. There aren't enough roleplaying options, either. The greybeard guy is angry at me for being unwise, and all I can say is "So can you teach me the shout or not? *makes monkey noises*"

    4. When I married the Companions brother he was three days late!:D Mind you I mostly got married to unlock the achievement...

And yeah, writing the romances even just for the main NPCs would have been time-consuming. As for the Greybeards, where's the option to say, "Well, you can all shout. Why can't you go kill all the Dragons?" :p

But it's fun to play and a beautiful world. If I want roleplaying I'll play Dragon Age or the NWN mods ;)but sometimes I just want to have a argument with a dragon!

    1. Brash doesn't really like sluts. He prefers nice and shy. But nice girls usually don't like him, so he should take what he can get...

  5. This screenshot makes me wonder, does the pc's state of undress have something do the with the man, next to that camp, or is he just enjoying the view? lol

    1. He doesn't really care. I caught him in the screenshot to avoid the huge soldier who was sitting on the other side. :D
